New BC Real Estate Association President and Board of Directors
Vancouver, BC – March 26, 2013. The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) is pleased to announce that Jennifer Lynch, a Gabriola Island REALTOR® and former President of the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board, has been elected as its 2013-2014 President.
“With over 19 years of experience as a licensed REALTOR®, I look forward to bringing my experience and passion for promoting high professional standards and the value of working with a REALTOR® to my role as BCREA President,” said Lynch. “It is an honour to dedicate my time to help steer organized real estate in this exciting time of change for the profession."
Jennifer Lynch is a managing broker with Coast Realty Group on Gabriola Island. She has contributed extensively to the real estate industry, serving on numerous committees and as a Director at BCREA and the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board, where she was also President in 2007.
Joining Lynch as Officers of the Association are President-Elect Jake Moldowan of Re/Max Jake Moldowan Realty in Richmond, Past President Jim McCaughan of Landmark Realty Corporation in Abbotsford and Chief Executive Officer Robert Laing.
For the first time, BCREA is also welcoming two non-licensees to the Board of Directors to bring a public angle to the Association’s decision making processes. These two new Non-Licensee Directors are Donna Bridgeman and Sharon Bryan. Returning REALTOR® Directors include Claudia Holland (Quesnel), James Palanio (Penticton), Dick Pemberton (Kamloops), K. Scott Russell (Richmond), Rosario Setticasi (North Vancouver) and Jim Stewart (Nanaimo).
BCREA represents the 11 member real estate boards and their approximately 18,000 REALTORS® on all provincial issues, providing an extensive communications network, standard forms, government relations, economic research and analysis, applied practice courses and continuing professional education (cpe).
To demonstrate the profession’s commitment to improving Quality of Life in BC communities, BCREA supports policies that help ensure economic vitality, provide housing opportunities, preserve the environment, protect property owners and build better communities with good schools and safe neighbourhoods.
